IT and Computer Science Teacher

Following the opening of a third site in September 2020, Robert Clack School is continuing to expand further in September 2022. We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher of IT and Computer Science to join our growing team. 

The successful candidate will need to teach IT and Computer Science to Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. This is an ideal role for either an experienced teacher or someone newer to the profession. 

You will be working in a department consisting of eight teachers in twelve well-equipped IT classrooms. You will be expected to teach both IT and Computer Science subjects across all Key Stages with preferred knowledge in the following areas: Programming languages, Computer hardware & software, Cyber security, Networking, Google suite, the full MS Office suite and Adobe Creative Cloud.  The subjects we offer are immensely popular at Robert Clack. You will also be expected to engage in extra-curricular activities. Prior experience in industry would be preferable to help mould, advise and focus our students on their future pathways.

You must be passionate about teaching and promoting a lifelong enjoyment of Computer Science and ICT. You will be expected to collaborate with colleagues in the department in planning and delivering lessons across a range of ages and abilities.  You must be committed to delivering high quality teaching and learning, while securing outstanding progress for all pupils.  The right candidate for us will be someone who can demonstrate: -

• Experience and knowledge of teaching Computer Science and ICT within a secondary
       school (ages 11-18); You do not need to have taught at all Key Stages.

• Excellent curriculum knowledge and how to sequence the skills and knowledge
       needed;

• A record of / commitment to outstanding teaching and securing high levels of pupil
       progress;

• Experience of or a commitment to wider school responsibilities;

• Exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills;

• Qualified Teacher Status;

• A degree in Computer Science is preferred although not essential if you have some
       experience in software development

• An appreciation and an understanding of a school at the heart of the community.
