The Trust is looking to recruit a high performing IT and Data Services Manager to take overall responsibility for their IT infrastructure, its operation and strategic development. The successful candidate will able to demonstrate several years’ broad management experience within IT services.  They will be comfortable forming strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, have the ability to manage and implement change and to manage technical details and direct technical staff. The role includes management of a small and dedicated team covering all aspects of IT from day-to-day service delivery to strategic planning.

The Trust uses an ITIL based approach to service management in an environment supporting around 600 users including Windows PCs and iPads.  Infrastructure is based on Microsoft Active Directory, MS Exchange, and MS Office 365 Cloud services (including Sharepoint and OneDrive).

The successful applicant will have a good understanding of modern infrastructure which includes physical and virtual servers, based on mainstream vendors. They will also have knowledge of enterprise SAN storage including fibre channel and iSCSI fabric networks with a thorough understanding of Windows desktop OS. Ideally the successful applicant will have worked with hosted infrastructure, such as Office 365. Experience in working with tablet technology, preferably iPad, as a key business or education tool is beneficial.

The successful applicant will be conversant with standard networking concepts and implementation, including routing, VLAN and VoIP telephony. They will understand typical methods for securing the network perimeter, using Firewall, mail and web gateways. Additionally, networking security products and techniques such as IPS, IDS, and centralised log management or SIEM would be beneficial.

An understanding of information security management principals and practice, such as ISO 27001, would be of great benefit and applying appropriate security tools and techniques to sound risk assessments, ensuring that systems are resilient, highly available and can be recovered in the event of a disaster is critical. The successful applicant will understand DR planning and have worked with enterprise class backup solutions.

This support staff role is full time, all year round.

Closing date for applications: Friday 29th September 2017 at 3pm.
