About the Role
As IT Manager, you will be in charge of our IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations, robust security, and future-ready systems. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll shape the college’s IT strategy, manage projects, and oversee a small, talented team to deliver exceptional support and solutions.
From maintaining networks and cloud systems, to implementing disaster recovery plans, this role puts you at the forefront of technology in education.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a motivated leader who combines technical expertise with a commitment to excellence. You’ll have proven experience managing IT systems, including networks, virtualisation, and cloud platforms, alongside strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
You’ll understand the importance of data security, compliance, and safeguarding, ensuring our systems not only run smoothly but also support the needs of our staff and students. Exceptional communication and organisational abilities are key, as you’ll collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to deliver innovative solutions.

John Leggott College is a mixed, selective, non-denominational, general further education college situated in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. It is a 16-plus institution based on a single modern campus close to the town centre, with good access to surrounding rural areas. There are around 1,700 learners at the college, between the ages of 16-19, studying a range of academic and vocational courses.
The college was founded in 1958 as John Leggott Grammar School. The sixth form was established in 1968 in the midst of a Scunthorpe education reorganisation.
