Essential Skills

 Implementation, design and maintenance of the network infrastructure including VLAN,

switches, router and firewall.

 Design and maintenance of Wireless infrastructure – currently Aerohive / Extreme.

 Previous experience in successfully designing and delivering solutions to budget, especially

consolidating software and procedures.

 Acting as 2nd and 3rd line of support and escalate to the BET IT Lead when needed.

 Extensive management experience of Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 and

Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems, preferably in an education environment.

 Excellent working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP and DNS.

 Monitoring IT efficiency, assessing and upgrading business systems and processes when

appropriate.

 Significant experience managing Microsoft Hyper-V/VMware, Failover Cluster Manager,

Google Suite.

 Project management skills including demonstrable experience of working cross-functionally

to deliver change.

 Excellent negotiating skills to liaise with vendors and third parties.

 IT security and governance.

 Good leadership and communication abilities.

 Line management experience.

Desirable Skills

 Experience managing Microsoft 365.

 Experience implementing VEEAM from scratch.

 IET, BCS or Open Group qualifications or significant progress towards them.

 Microsoft Azure Administrator certification or AWS equivalent.

 ITIL Foundation and Prince 2 Foundation level will be a plus.
