IT Services MIS Officer 

Up to £ 38,000 (depending on skills and experience) – Full Time

The University of Buckingham is the UK's only independent University with a Royal Charter. Having led the National Student Survey rankings for the last 8 years, Buckingham continues to place great emphasis on the welfare and development of its 2,000 or so students. 

As a key member of the IT Services team, the MIS Officer will play a key role in the Management Information Systems of the University. 

Experience of MS SQL databases and reporting services, together with project management skills are therefore essential. 

The MIS Officer will be a senior member of the IT Services team and will be capable of making significant decisions alone, based on a sound analytical approach.

 The Role: 

- Installing, securing, configuring and administering SQL servers

- A solid understanding of the TSQL scripting and queries

- The use of a reporting tool (We use MS reporting services)

- Being the technical support person for the Universities MIS systems. (SITS, OCCAM, CIPHR, and Moodle). This involves liaising with third party suppliers as well as learning our systems. 

- Project Managing MIS system improvements and updates  

Candidates should have a mixture of the below, certainly not ALL of them:

SQL, HTML, TSQL, MS Reporting, SITS, Crystal reports, Business intelligence, 

Database security, Occam, MYSQL, Workbench, VB scripting, DBA, Oracle, Linux

Windows Server, Active directory, CSS, Database security model, XML, Database Backup,

End User training

A Full driver’s license is required as the role covers driving between University sites within Buckingham.
