We have an exciting opportunity for an IT ServicesTechnician to join the IT team at the Mowbray Education Trust. You will work alongside the Group IT Services Manager to ensure the smooth running of the technical IT service across all schools within the Trust.
This role is permanent working 37 hours a week, Monday – Thursday (8:30am – 4:30pm) and Friday (8:30am – 4:00pm). The role will be working all year round (52 weeks per year) and will be based at John Ferneley College, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, LE13 1LH.
Role
The role of IT Technician will involve working across several different areas including (Not an exhaustive list):
- Service desk support
- Assist in the management of the Trust ICT computer facilities & software
- Assistance to staff and students using ICT - including software support
- ICT hardware installation and maintenance
- Maintaining accurate records
- SIMS and Data Management
About you
The successful candidate will be providing support to all schools across the Trust, therefore a full driving license and access to a vehicle will be required for this role.
You will have GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above, Level 2 IT qualification – GCSE or BTEC and hold a recognised computer or network qualification or equivalent experience.
You will have knowledge of GDPR and Data Protection and have experience of Windows/Apple operating systems.
You will have good communication and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Along with a good level of IT skills including Microsoft Office software and Teams. You will be able to manage your own workload and respond swiftly to tight deadlines.

Mowbray Education Trust (MET) is a multi-academy trust currently educating around 2,500 children from the age of 2 to 16 in the town of Melton Mowbray and surrounding villages in the Borough of Melton. MET currently has one secondary school, five primary schools and one preschool: with potential numerical and geographical growth in the future.
Melton Mowbray is a rural market town in Leicestershire which is easily commutable from Grantham, Leicester, Loughborough, Nottingham and Oakham.
MET has a central support services team, with staff managing Estates, Finance, HR, IT and Operations, across our schools. The central team are based at offices within John Ferneley College in Melton Mowbray.
