Penistone Grammar School Advanced Learning Centre is looking to recruit a permanent IT Technician.

We are looking for an IT Technician who shares our vision and can inspire and support our young people to achieve more than they believe is possible. As a school, we pride ourselves on our consistently high standards, both in terms of learning and in terms of behaviour. We have a commitment to the success of all students, academically and pastorally and expect all our staff to share this commitment.

The successful candidate will join the ICT Support Team providing end user support designed to prevent or minimise disruption to Teaching and Learning. The successful candidate will have a blend of personal qualities, including motivation, initiative, and problem solving. It is vital that such a person has good communication skills, matched with approachability, alongside a passionate desire to deliver excellence. In exercising these duties, the candidate will demonstrate and practise a range of technical abilities, including server and network experience, hardware and software knowledge, and understanding of ICT related technologies, and they will also have a clear understanding of when to ask for support so that the service is maintained.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an IT Technician to take the next step in their career, stretching their knowledge and understanding, gaining experience through the role, and exploring new technologies as they emerge.

Our school is ‘Good’ poised to be ‘Outstanding’ very soon. We are a vibrant, oversubscribed 11 to 18 comprehensive school with excellent GCSE results across all subjects; we are recognised as one of the highest performing schools in the region in terms of Key Stage 4 outcomes. Our A level results and destinations are equally impressive, with the school placed in the top 10% for performance (according to ALPS) and over 95% of all students gaining entrance to their university or apprenticeship of choice.

We are committed to professional development for all staff regardless of role. We have a programme of training specifically designed for those who work within an inclusion capacity. This is complemented by a series of whole-school associate staff training events and an annual leadership development programme.

If you are looking for an opportunity to work in a school where our values are at the heart of all we do and where tradition and innovation perfectly complement each other, we are the school for you.
