Start Date: As soon as possible

Contract: Permanent, all year round.

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week. Monday - Friday (some evening and weekend work may be required)

Salary: Band 2, Points 6 - 11. (£18,870 - £20,145)

We are looking for a highly adaptable, technical problem solver, who is able to work with autonomy to deliver IT services within one secondary academy as part of a shared ICT service across Greater Manchester. The role of IT Technician will involve working as part of a team to provide IT Support and contribute to the effective operation, maintenance and repair of all computers and computer related resources throughout the academy.

The role holder will have experience of working within a help desk environment and sound demonstrable knowledge of PCs, laptops, printers, audio-visual components and other network devices as well as experience of supporting users within a Microsoft Windows environment. Knowledge, experience and ability of trouble-shooting and resolving a spectrum of first/second line issues ranging from hardware through to software is compulsory.

Although the role has predominantly fixed working hours, it may involve, where the business requires, both evening and weekend work. The role holder will therefore need to demonstrate a large degree of flexibility and willingness to work unsociable hours if called upon. The ability to adapt working hours around the business needs of the academy and IT service is an expectancy of the job role.
