Job overview

We are looking for a passionate part time Japanese teacher, to join our ‘Outstanding’ school. 

Japanese is offered as an extra curriculum lesson, before and after school. The successful candidate will be required to deliver four lessons per week. The days of work are flexible. 

Standards are very high and extensive links exist with a range of international partners resulting in a rich and diverse learning environment for students and staff. The ethos of the school is supportive of language learning and internationalism in particular. As an indication of this, the Department for Education recently invited the school to become a ‘Languages Hub’ for secondary education. 

Our ideal candidate will have a positive, forward-thinking approach along with outstanding interpersonal skills. A good understanding of the role of technology to enhance learning would be helpful, as all staff and students have iPads.

Tomlinscote is a highly successful, over-subscribed mixed comprehensive school of approximately 1500 students.  Our staff enjoy working here because our standards, facilities and staff well-being are excellent.

Our students are a pleasure to teach and make excellent progress as shown by the positive examination data.  All Tomlinscote students and staff have their own iPad to enhance learning inside or outside of the classroom.  Tomlinscote is now part of The Prospect Trust and this also provides an opportunity to teach Sixth Form as well if required by the candidate.
