Job overview
We are looking for a KS1 or KS2 teacher from the 1st September 2021. Millfield Prep School is divided into Pre-Prep which runs from Pre-School to Year 2, Junior Prep from Years 3-6 and Upper Prep from Years 7-8. Teachers in the Pre-Prep and Junior departments work closely together with their planning and teaching strategies. The children go to specialist teachers for Music, Languages, Design and Technology, ICT and Games. The departments run a thematic and creative cross-curricular international curriculum which includes the subjects; History, Geography, RS, Art, ICT, Science, International and Social. English and Maths are taught discretely but linked to the rest of the children’s learning where possible. Therefore, it is imperative that applicants must be able to teach all subjects such as English, Maths, Geography, History, RS etc. to children of all ages within the Junior Department or Pre-Prep. We are looking for someone who is patient, understanding, innovative, collaborative and has a willingness to become involved in the many aspects of the Pre-Prep or Junior Department.
Millfield Prep School stands in its own grounds of 200 acres at the foot of the Glastonbury Tor in Somerset. The school has approx. 450 pupils including a mixture of both day pupils and boarders. There is a close affiliation with Millfield School where the majority of pupils move onto from Year 9 through to sixth form.
