This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding, enthusiastic coach with experience in coaching pupils up to the age of 11. You will be qualified to at least A Level or equivalent and have undertaken some coaching qualifications.

During the day you will be actively teaching a variety of lessons across the Junior School setting. In Lower Juniors (Early Years – Year 2) pupils are taught the fundamental basics and as they progress through the school more formal sports are introduced. You will be supported by the department when planning lessons, which will include individual and team teaching. After school you will take part in the full co-curricular programme which includes a wide variety of opportunities for the pupils across an extensive range of sports.

Our exceptional onsite facilities include, 6 full size grass football pitches, an Olympic standard floodlit hockey pitch, 2 further new floodlit all-weather games areas for Netball and Tennis. We also have a large well-equipped sports hall, a gymnasium and a 25m indoor swimming pool. The school has full planning permission to build a floodlit 4G football AstroTurf. With further exciting projects in the near future and a nationally successful reputation, sport at Royal Russell offers exceptional opportunities for all our pupils and colleagues.

The Junior School is an integral part of the whole Royal Russell School community in which children and adults thrive. The role of Junior School Sports Coach is key to the future success of our children and the successful candidate will be an excellent coach with strong subject knowledge in our major sports Football, Netball, Hockey and Cricket, alongside a variety of other sports. The School focuses on the pastoral needs and wellbeing of our children and the Sports coach will build excellent relationships with children and their families. Royal Russell School educates over 1000 girls and boys between the ages of 3 and 18 and is situated on a beautiful green campus of 110 acres in the Shirley Hills near Croydon, only 30 minutes from Central London.  We have over 180 boarding students in the Senior School and are proud of our state of the art day and boarding facilities as well as the warm pastoral provision provided by our Housemasters and Housemistresses.  Our pupils, parents and staff experience a warm and friendly environment with strong pastoral care for every pupil alongside a comprehensive co-curricular and enrichment programme.
