An excellent opportunity for a dynamic, ambitious teacher to take on a key role in this leading independent day school from September 2018.
The Deputy Head (Lower School) is responsible to the Head of the Junior School for the smooth running of the Lower School (Years 3 to 6) and the girls’ pastoral care. As a member of the Junior Team, he/she will also contribute to the development of the Junior School’s strategy and policies. The person appointed will have highly developed leadership and organisational skills and the potential to progress to Headship at a later stage.
The ideal candidate will be able to teach across the Key Stage 2 curriculum and lead a subject area. Applications should state the specialisms offered.
Founded by Frances Mary Buss in 1850, the North London Collegiate School is one of the country’s highest achieving girls’ independent day schools. A key objective of the Junior School (Reception to Year 6) is to prepare its pupils for a smooth transition to the Senior School. NLCS occupies a superb 30 acre site in Canons Park, North West London on which the Junior School occupies a dedicated building and facilities while also benefitting from the whole school’s impressive grounds, sports facilities and dining room.

About North London Collegiate School
North London Collegiate School is an independent all-through day school for girls, based in Edgware. Its motto translates from Latin as "in the hope of labour". There are 1,065 aged 4-18 on the school roll.
The school was founded by Frances Mary Buss at the family home in Camden in 1850. The current site was acquired in 1929, and the school was fully relocated in 1940. The main site is a country house built in the eighteenth century. Since 2011, North London Collegiate School has had a franchise school in South Korea.
