Junior School Teacher

The Junior School, based on a beautiful campus just outside Florence requires a suitably qualified teacher for an Upper Primary classroom position.  The post requires teaching experience in the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and a minimum of 2 years experience as a qualified primary teacher. Experience with the PYP Exhibition is preferred, as well as a demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with a like-minded team.

Interviews will be held virtually,  or on campus if possible.

Commencement of duties: New staff induction commences 24th August 2021

Experience of teaching within the IB PYP, or a similar curriculum framework, is essential.

To contribute to curriculum planning and development, collaborating with the other members of the phase team in sharing best practice, resources and ideas.

To promote a positive and stimulating learning environment that develops deep understanding and a love of learning.

To differentiate teaching to meet individual learning needs of students, providing formative feedback that nurtures student’s independence.

To use effectively the digital tools available and currently used by the school, including software to enhance learning across the Junior School.

Is committed to or has experience of an inquiry approach

Strong understanding of assessment as, for and of learning.

Ability to demonstrate the capacity to think beyond disciplinary boundaries.

An understanding of, and engagement with, research in education.

Participation in the ISF Research Programme is a current or future expectation.

A commitment to, and experience of, supporting social and emotional development.

Professionally qualified teacher with a first degree, and holds a recognised teaching qualification.

At least 2 years experience as a qualified teacher.

Child protection certificate indicating training at least to Level 2 prior to commencement (ECIS CP training provided at ISF).
