The Position

Candidates are invited to apply for the position of Key Stage 1 Coordinator with TLR for Literacy for our school located in Semenyih, Selangor (near Kuala Lumpur)

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and driven teacher who is passionate about Key Stage 1 to join the Tenby International School team in September. Working with the Head of Primary you will play an instrumental role in building and developing Key Stage 1, implanting and embedding our KS1 vision, working with drive and enthusiasm to secure the long-term success of the school. You will lead the KS1 team, modelling effective methodology and practice and will inspire the team to ensure high quality education for all. We are looking for a resilient and motivated individual who has a deep rooted appreciation of childhood, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of the primary curriculum and a strong desire to nurture children as they grow into independent, highly motivated learners. You will be a reflective leader, displaying professionalism and commitment to all areas of school life. A key part of your role will be to ensure high quality and effective assessment of pupils across Key Stage 1. You will coordinate and evaluate continuity and progression across the Key Stage through shared practice and focused classroom observations. You will work to build a collaborative Key Stage 1 team, reacting to staff needs through mentoring and building a supportive and caring ethos.

Established in 1960, the TENBY SCHOOLS GROUP (part of the British owned International Schools Partnership) operates international and private schools in peninsula Malaysia; currently in Tropicana Aman, Setia Eco Park, Penang, Ipoh, Johor Bahru and Semenyih. Tenby International School Setia EcoHill in Semenyih commenced operation in September 2016, offering an international, student-centred programme for students from Early Years up to the Secondary levels, focusing on the development of responsible learners who are both independent and creative thinkers. Both the Primary and Secondary schools are located on a 14-acre purpose-built campus, with a capacity for 1800 students, which is equipped with modern teaching and learning facilities. The School aims to be the school of choice in the local area and has seen growth in our roll of over 15% in the last six months. Therefore with a new school which is rapidly growing there will be opportunities for the right candidate to grow with the school.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a degree plus a PGCE or a BEd or equivalent, and relevant teaching experience, particularly in a student-centred learning environment.

Experience of leading a team or a desire to work hard to become a valued member of our middle management team is expected.

This is a two-year contract with an option to renew at the end. Benefits include:

Interviews

Tenby International School – Setia Echohill is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, independent, all-through school with sixth form, in Malaysia, serving students from the age of 3-18. The all-through school is situated in Semenyih, Selangor. It belongs to the Tenby Schools Group, an expanding group of six international and Malaysian private schools across the country.

Tenby International School – Setia Echohill is the latest of the six schools, having opened in 2016. The building offers facilities including tennis courts, football fields, a swimming pool, art rooms, music rooms, a café and computer suites. Students are taught from a British inspired curriculum and  go on to study towards IGCSE exams and International A levels.
