The role

Smart Teachers is recruiting for a nurturing and caring special needs support assistant to support a child within Key stage 1, on a full time basis . The child is on the Autistic spectrum, is able to communicate,  and does not need help with personal care or toileting.  The ideal candidate would need to support this key child on a 1:1 basis, and promote inclusivity within the school.


The school

This is a popular two-form entry school in a very accessible part of Newham, close to transport links. It has a long standing reputation for being a highly inclusive setting, maintaining a calm and relaxed feel throughout. It has a low – rise appearance with attractive outside gardens, and a separate Nursery at full capacity. The school is graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted , and is praised for its learning opportunities offered to children, particularly with Music and the Arts.


Requirements

To be considered for the Key Stage 1 Special Needs Support Assistant you will:

• Have experience of working within Primary schools

• Experience, or a desire to support children with special needs

• Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS / police checks
