About the role:

A small primary school in the north of Derby are in need of a teaching assistant to help the class teacher during lesson time as well as to provide 1:1 support for part of the week to less able pupils. 

The school is a small independent school who are mainly looking for someone that fits in with their ethos and high standards when it comes to both academia and behaviour. The Senior leadership team are keen to find someone who can integrate into the staff and is willing to push themselves professionally in order to provide the best assistance to the class teacher and to the children in their care.

The role will be based in a year 2 class, where the teacher will be primarily engaged with SATs and the main bulk of the TA’s work will be to assist those who are struggling and provide extra maths and English help. The successful candidate will be able to show they have a proven track record of success in a similar role and can bring some new ideas and techniques into the classroom.

To register with us, all candidates will be required to attend a face to face interview, hold an enhanced DBS check in Child Workforce on the Update Service and also gain references to cover the last 2 years. Please note that all teachers must hold valid QTS. For any Teaching Assistant roles you must hold an NVQ Level 2 or above, a relevant educational degree or a minimum of 3 months relevant experience within a UK school in the last 5 years.
