Key Stage 1 Teacher

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic dynamic and dedicated Key Stage 1 class teacher who demonstrates a desire to contribute to a successful, vibrant school.  Newly qualified teachers will be considered alongside teachers with experience in the maintained or independent sector.

Somerhill Pre-Prep is one of the three Schools at Somerhill. It is a co-educational school, comprising an Early Years department and Key Stage 1 department.  There are approximately 200 pupils, ranging in age from rising 3 to 7 years.  There are currently just over 30 full and part-time staff, including Learning Support Assistants and specialist teachers.  Somerhill Pre-Prep provides families the opportunity to start their child’s learning in a school environment prior to statutory school age.  Our Early Years department comprises of two Pre-School classes, offering a mixed age range environment for Rising 3 and Rising 4 year olds and three Reception classes.  There are three Year 1 and three Year 2 classes.  We are a mixed ability school and pride ourselves on developing each child to their full potential, both academically and socially.

Somerhill Pre-Prep classrooms are all located around a courtyard and this offers a secure setting for the children. Teaching and learning also takes place in the diverse outdoor environment surrounding the building.  As a result of a strong building programme over the last ten years, we also benefit from excellent facilities including: the SPP outdoor play area, Music Building and fantastic sports amenities.  More details of all three schools can be found on our website: www.somerhill.org.

Short-listed candidates will be informed by e-mail and interviews will take place during the week commencing 27th March.
