Cranleigh Abu Dhabi opened its doors in September 2014 and is now a thriving school of over 1100 pupils from FS1 to Year 12. We have very close links with our distinguished parent school in the UK and enjoy a reputation for excellence and innovation, as recognised by a number of local and international awards.

Set on a beautiful purpose-built campus on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, a short distance from the incredible Louvre Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Beach and NYU Abu Dhabi, we enjoy first class facilities for our Pre-Prep to Sixth Form academic programmes, as well as for our wide range of sports, performing arts and after school activities.

Cranleigh is seeking to appoint highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced teachers to join our wonderful team next academic year. A willingness to contribute to our co-curricular programme and extended day is essential.

Applications are welcome from excellent primary school practitioners who have experience of teaching Key Stage 1 and the British curriculum. The position is until the end of the Summer term, with a strong likelihood of a contract extension for the right candidate.

Generous and competitive packages will include on-site accommodation where possible.

Cranleigh Abu Dhabi seeks to provide a truly transforming experience in which intellectual, artistic, sporting, spiritual and social development is at the heart.

Based on the community and family-oriented ethos of Cranleigh School, one of England’s leading independent schools founded in 1865, Cranleigh Abu Dhabi was opened on Saadiyat Island in September 2014.

Now in our fourth year with a pupil population of over 1,100 spanning FS1 to Year 12, we are proud to have been named New British International School of the Year 2017 in the BIS Awards, as well as the leading school in Abu Dhabi and overall runner-up in SchoolsCompared.com’s UAE Top Schools Award 2017. We have also been shortlisted for International School of the Year in the Tes Independent Schools Awards 2018. Winners will be announced in London in February.

Our educational philosophy centres on a desire to bring out the unique talents of each child, recognising and nurturing the innate ability in every individual. Through our supportive family atmosphere, we aim to produce grounded young men and women capable of tackling life’s challenges with confidence, determination and courage.

Teaching and learning at Cranleigh is innovative. The academic team is expected to be energetic and engaging, able to introduce fresh creative ideas into every lesson. A particular strength in this area was highlighted in our 2016/17 Inspection Report which states: “The school’s promotion of innovation skills is very effective and is an example of best practice.” SchoolsCompared.com said: “It is impossible not to appreciate the courage of its approach and its vision to deliver the absolute best possible education for all its students. …it does this with an open door to the outside world that floods into the classroom, and enables children to explore their interest unconstrained by exam metrics and the curriculum.”

Our focus on innovation is clearly evidenced in our Sixth Form Programme launched this year. Sixth Formers at Cranleigh Abu Dhabi are taught using both traditional and Harkness style methods, and study the Extended Project Qualification alongside A Levels. Creative opportunities for leadership development, career planning and work experience ensure students gain the insight, confidence and skills required to support their university applications, and ultimately their future lives in the workplace.

Cranleigh Abu Dhabi sits at the entrance to Saadiyat’s emerging Cultural District in keeping with the school’s motto, ‘Ex Cultu Robur’ – ‘From Culture Comes Strength’. Built over seven hectares, we have a beautiful, bespoke campus situated within minutes of New York University Abu Dhabi and the magnificent Saadiyat Beach, as well as the extraordinary Louvre Abu Dhabi.

In addition to the broad academic curriculum, our daily routine offers a wealth of opportunities that allow pupils to explore their full range of talents in fine arts, performing arts, music, sport and other activities such as gymnastics, parkour, golf, horse riding and debating to name but a few.
