Vision for Education are looking to appoint a Key Stage One Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school in the Newcastle area. This is a full-time position set to commence at the beginning of November, working between the hours of 08:30-15:30. The school is a larger than average primary school set within the heart of Newcastle, the minimum experience, training, or qualifications for this position is a Level 3 Qualification in Childcare. 

The role

This would be a general support role within a Key Stage 1 class. The school would ideally like an experienced Teaching Assistant; however, they are open to welcoming a Newly Qualified Teaching Assistant if they can meet the requirements. The successful candidate will be able to confidently support pupils in class and through smaller intervention groups, covering the core subjects of Mathematics, English and Phonics. The Teaching Assistant must be able to work effectively alongside the class Teacher to follow plans and aid pupils’ academic achievements.

Requirements

To be considered for the Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant post, you will:

• Hold a minimum of Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning Qualification.

• Have experience within Key Stage 1. 

• Preferably have experience of teaching Read, Write, Inc Phonics. 

• Be enthusiastic towards teaching young children.

• Able to offer creative and dynamic teaching styles.
