Job overview

Are you a remarkable teacher who feels stifled by the mainstream system? Are you an exceptional, creative practitioner who really wants to make a difference every day to the lives of the most vulnerable children?

Do you want to be driven by a sense of moral purpose rather than data?  Do you want high quality professional development and support? Do you want to teach small classes where getting to know the children really well is a priority and a pleasure? Do you want to work with highly supportive colleagues who share your values and ethos? Do you want to work in an organisation that supports career progression and has opportunities beyond your own school? Do you want to be involved in educational research and development? Do you want to work in an organisation with a national reputation for excellence in its field?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then why not come and work for an organisation who truly believes that there is another way?

Springwell Learning Community is looking to recruit teachers to work within its specialist settings where all of this can be achieved through commitment, resilience and a dedication to working differently. If you are interested in being a part of this unique opportunity, please read on……

This position would suit a teacher (primary or secondary) with the enthusiasm, creativity, resilience and confident behaviour management experience to teach in our key stage three alternative academy provision delivering Maths, English, PSHE, SEAL and other subjects through our Elements thematic curriculum to a primary model, to excluded pupils in years 7,8 and 9 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties with the aim of re-integrating them back into mainstream school.  If you are already an SEN/SEMH specialist, or have experience of working effectively with vulnerable pupils with challenging behaviour in mainstream and relish the opportunity of moving into special education, then this position is ideal. High levels of support and specialist training will be provided for a teacher with the values and ethos that will allow you to work as part of our superb team.

If you would like to discuss the position, or would like to find out more about the academies, then please call either Dave Whitaker (Executive Principal) or Verity Watts (Associate Executive Principal) on 01226 327076.

If you would like to come and visit then please contact Julie Snowball on 01226 291133.

Further information about the Learning Community is available on our website.

Deadline for electronic submission is Monday 23rd October 2017 at 8am

Interviews will take place on Wednesday 25th October 2017

Please do not send a CV as this cannot be accepted.

Please note: you will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Springwell Learning Community is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment
