We seek to appoint an outstanding, inspirational and talented Science teacher, to join the leadership team within the Science Faculty with responsibility of overseeing Key Stage 5. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Faculty to lead and inspire others and raise attainment within Science at Post 16. Most importantly you will be someone who has vision, energy and enthusiasm - for both students and the subject.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and developing team, and would suit a teacher aspiring to their first senior role.

We are looking for someone who:

· Has a proven track record or the potential to secure excellent student outcomes in Post 16 examinations. (Specialism in either biology, chemistry or physics) 

· Can provide leadership, innovation and direction in the Learning and Teaching of Science at post 16. 

· Has the ability to support other staff to develop a Post 16 science curriculum that will improve student’s skills, knowledge, understanding and their love for learning in the 21st century. 

· Is skilled at fostering independent and collaborative student-led learning within Post 16 science education.

The successful candidate must:

· be responsible for maintaining the highest of standards and role modelling excellence within A level Science and Btec Applied Science.

· be passionate about delivering an innovative and interesting science curriculum.

· have an understanding of changes to specifications within A Level and Btec Applied Science courses.  

· be able to effectively support other science teachers to accelerate learning within science at Post 16
