Crossley Heath is an outstanding school. Achievement is excellent and students are provided with outstanding care, guidance and support” (Ofsted Report February 2011)

We wish to recruit an outstanding, enthusiastic and passionate teacher who can bring new ideas and best practice to our English Department. All students at the school study for GCSE English Language and Literature and hence this KS4 post is of key importance, both in terms of securing outstanding progress and ensuring strong recruitment to A Level English subjects at KS5. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious teacher looking to develop their practice and gain leadership experience within a highly successful and supportive school. We are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner, with a record of high attainment and strong progress, particularly with students of high ability.

Information about the school is available on our website together with further details about the post and an application pack. The Crossley Heath School is proud of our origins as an orphanage and school, keeping our founding spirit of philanthropy and commitment to social mobility alive for students of all backgrounds across our community. We are an inclusive school family, building on our proud heritage to champion the students of today to become the leaders of tomorrow.

Our students are the most wonderful part of our school and developing both their academic achievement and strength of character matters dearly to us. Kindness is a value we uphold and we hope all visitors find themselves stepping into the friendliest and happiest school possible. We believe in courage through protecting what is right and good, taking on challenges and changing the world for the better. Excellence is our goal, both academically and in extra-curricular fields. We intend to excel and celebrate the greatest talents in sport, performing arts and beyond so all our students flourish in the areas that matter most to them as unique individuals, supported by a real school family here at Crossley Heath.

Our staff members are truly valued and opportunities for professional career development abound. We have wellbeing at the heart of all we do and as staff we enjoy time together and we support each other. Our staff:

· Are supported by an additional Crossley Heath non-contact period on top of their PPA allocation as a thank you for all they do for our students.

· Take the opportunity to lead a wealth of extra-curricular activities over our extended 50 minute lunchtime.

· Experience school trips at home and abroad during term time as we believe these are the most memorable moments of schooling.

· Are supported by a wellbeing champion and strong, close communication with our leaders.

· Enjoy wellbeing initiatives like weekly celebrations of our star staff, vying to win the Head Teacher's car parking space each week, plus weekly clubs and sport for staff.

We are so proud of our students as:

· They have wonderful characters shining with kindness, courage and excellence.

· They commit to our House system so they can enjoy collaborating and competing across our 11 to 18 age range.

· They make us proud with their commitment to extra-curricular sport, clubs and their behaviour on trips, many reaching high levels in their chosen sport and other endeavours thanks to commitments that extend beyond school time.

· They have the academic ability and aspiration to become the leaders of tomorrow who can shape our world for the better.

· They care about each other as much as we care about them.

Come to visit us and see for yourself a high performing school with a really big heart.
