British International School of Chicago, Lincoln Park

Founded in 2001, British International School of Chicago, Lincoln Park (BISC-LP) is one of the two campuses in Chicago, and has been at the forefront of private school education in the United States and North American region. Our school’s mission is to provide an ever-evolving experience for ever-evolving learners. At BISC-LP, we recognise the uniqueness of each child through a program of learning that promotes challenge and personalised education at all levels. With a newly remodeled campus, we are looking to appoint enthusiastic and committed Key Stage Two Teacher who will lead with a fresh perspective, nurture talent, and be ambitious for our students aged 3 to 11. Our facilities are designed not only to give teachers what they need to succeed as inspiring leaders of learning, but also provide students with opportunities to engage in creative and critical thinking alongside stimulating and meaningful experiences that extend beyond the classroom.

Our five-story Lincoln Park campus houses a full STEAM corridor (science, technology, engineering, arts, math), music studios, world languages classrooms, and a maker’s lab to offer all of our students cutting edge, hands-on learning. All of our teachers have access to interactive white boards and state-of-the art technology including computers, iPads, 3-D printers and design software. In addition, our purpose-built facilities feature a new library, indoor and outdoor play spaces, a 464 square-meter gymnasium, a dance studio, and a rooftop playground that overlooks the iconic Chicago skyline.

Located in Lincoln Park, one of the most well-known neighborhoods in the heart of Chicago, our campus is steps away from internationally renowned theaters, museums, outdoor parks, hiking & biking trails, and 40 kilometers of public beaches. Our highly supportive parents choose the Lincoln Park campus not only because of its safe, family-friendly setting that’s within walking distance from their homes, but also they can also engage fully in the life of the school as well as their children’s education.

Recognised for our rigorous academics through individualised, global, and innovative learning experiences, British International School of Chicago, Lincoln Park welcomes highly motivated candidates to apply for our post. About British International School of Chicago, Lincoln Park

The British School of Chicago follows the British system of education and has an individualised approach and programme. Although we have a general expectation of what a child will achieve in a year, each child works to achieve his or her maximum potential. This means that children who are able can work at a higher level than their chronological age.
Instead of the term pre-school, kindergarten, grades 1-8 and high school the British School of Chicago uses Foundation and Key Stages 1-5 to cover the different age groups.

Foundation - covers the area of Nursery and Reception (Pre-school and Junior)
Key Stage 1 - covers Years 1 & 2 (Kindergarten and Grade 1)
Key Stage 2 - covers Years 3 - 6 (Grades 2 - 5)
Key Stage 3 - covers Years 7 - 9 (Grades 6 - 8)
Key Stage 4 - covers Years 10 - 11 (Grades 9 and 10)
Key Stage 5 - covers Years 12 - 13 (Grades 11 and 12)
