Leipzig International School provides a high quality  international education, conducted in English, to children of all  backgrounds, thereby supporting the regional community and promoting  international understanding.  

Our Leipzig International Kindergarten, opened in June 2014, provides over 240 children aged 1 to 6 with a full-day early education programme. We are fortunate to be working in an attractive, purpose-built facility that hosts a wide range of indoor classrooms and play spaces as well as a spacious, landscaped outdoor learning environment.

We are looking for a Kindergarten Assistant Director – initially time limited for 2 years.

Our goal is to help our children develop the skills they need for their future success, both at school and in life. By providing them with high-quality learning experiences, we encourage them to use their imaginations and we motivate them to develop an excitement for learning. 

Your tasks and responsibilities, in close cooperation with the Kindergarten Director, include:

• Lead a curriculum based on thorough planning in accordance with the Sächsischer Bildungsplan and the EYFS
• Development and implementation of our educational concept
• Manage the daily organisation of systems and routines for children and parents
• Work closely with the Early Years groups to develop a strong curriculum based on learning through play and exploration, active learning and thinking creatively
• Be a highly contributing member of the Leadership Team and Strategic Direction Team of the Kindergarten
• Use assessment tools for learning to focus on children’s progress and plan their next steps
• Leading change and motivating team members

Your profile includes:

• Willingness to work alongside school leadership, colleagues and parents
• Willing to lead, able to take initiative and be assertive 
• Flexible, open to changes and solution-oriented
• Be a team player
• Responsible and self-organised
• Skilled at communication, able to connect with many different people on a daily basis
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, variable and open environment 

Your qualifications:

• Bachelor in Early Years Education, Bachelor in social work or social pedagogy or a comparable education
• Masters in educational leadership is an advantage
• Proficient English language abilities (C2 Level) - able to communicate in English with managers, colleagues, the team and parents throughout the day
• Previous work/travel experience abroad is desirable
