Makuhari International School is a unique dual-language school (English and Japanese) delivering programmes for K1-G6 (Nursery to Year 7). Situated just 30 minutes by train from the centre of Tokyo, the award-winning MIS campus enjoys outstanding facilities and excellent resources. The curriculum model, based on the Japanese National Curriculum, but modified where appropriate, allows children to transfer to local junior high schools as well as other international schools. MIS opened its doors in 2009 and currently has 385 children on roll. MIS achieved fully accredited status with CIS in April 2017.
As a Kindergarten Teacher, you would be part of a team of six dedicated early years specialists offering an interactive, play-based curriculum which has been developed by setting the Japanese National Curriculum learning objectives in the Foundation Stage Framework. Candidates must have a minimum of two years recent experience and possess QTS or a teacher license issued by a government educational agency for the 3-10 age-range. Children learn in both English and Japanese, so experience with new learners of English will be an advantage. The ideal candidate should be able to take classes from K1 to K3 (Nursery to Year 1).
MIS children are a delight – eager to learn, and a pleasure to teach. When prospective parents leave after a visit, we are always confident that the ‘wow factor’ will ensure their return!
