Starting salary until 31st December 2022: SCP 1 £18,333 FTE, actual pro rata salary £4,357.90

As of 1st January 2023, NET is implementing job evaluation for all support staff, the grade for this post at that point will then be: SCP 4 - 5 £19,264 - £19,650 FTE, actual pro rata salary £4,579.20 - £4,670.96

Working Type: Part Time [10 hours/39 weeks]

Base: Norton Primary Academy, Berkshire Road, Norton, Stockton-on-Tees TS20 2RD

Please note: the post holder will be engaging in regulated activity, working mainly or wholly with children. This position is exempt from the rehabilitation of offender’s act 1974. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

Northern Education Trust (NET) is a charitable education Trust with a good track record for school improvement. The Trust sponsors 21 academies; 11 secondary and 10 primaries across the North of England in eleven Local Authority regions.

The Trust has recently launched a new in-house catering service and is now seeking to appoint a Kitchen Assistant to support the catering team.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent catering and customer service skills.

Main Responsibilties:

  • To maintain the highest possible standards of customer service to students, staff and visitors.
  • To carry out instructions received from Assistant Cook/Chef Manager.
  • To complete basic food preparation & cooking e.g. sandwiches, salads, vegetables.
  • Wash dishes, cutlery, tumblers, jugs, serving utensils, containers, tables and all other catering equipment in the dining and service areas
  • To ensure food hygiene and health and safety regulations is adhered to at all times.
