Job overview

Worth School is an independent Catholic Benedictine Boarding and Day School for pupils aged 11 – 18, set in a rural location near Turners Hill. 

We are looking to appoint a Kitchen Porter to join our fantastic catering team. The role of Kitchen Porter will assist in the day to day smooth running and cleaning of the kitchen, to support the Management team and all staff in the efficient operation of the Catering department. This will be achieved via equipment maintenance, kitchen hygiene and food preparation. 

52 weeks, 40 hours per week

About you 

The successful candidate will:        

  • Be able to communicate effectively: actively listen and convey ideas and information clearly        
  • Be able to follow guidelines and instructions        
  • Work well as part of a team        
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision        
  • Be committed to providing a high standard of work

Ideally you will also have:  

  • Previous experience of cleaning        
  • Knowledge of health and safety aspects of cleaning duties and food preparation        
  • Awareness of manual handling best practice
