Come and join us and you may qualify for an accommodation allowance of up to £7,200 over three years!

The Governors, staff and children of EP Collier Primary School are looking to appoint inspirational and enthusiastic class teachers who share our core values.

EP Collier Primary School is a welcoming, vibrant and inclusive community school in the heart of Reading with aspirational and exciting plans for the next few years. We have recently completed an extensive expansion and remodelling programme which allows us to offer a modern, high-quality learning environment. Ofsted recently commented (November 2017), ‘This school continues to be good… you are highly ambitious to provide the best for your pupils… pupils learn in a calm and highly supportive environment. They behave well and are polite and courteous.’

We are passionate about professional development, a view which is shared by our strong and supportive team of talented staff and governors and we regularly collaborate with other local schools to provide further opportunities for sharing good practice. If you have the qualities needed to inspire and challenge all pupils to achieve the very best we would love to hear from you.

Applications are invited from teachers with QTS, including experienced and newly qualified teachers. An accommodation allowance of up to £7,200 over three years may be available for successful candidates whose home address is over 50 miles away.

Visits are warmly welcomed. To arrange an appointment or request an application pack please contact the school by email admin@epcollier.reading.sch.uk or visit our school website www.epcollier.reading.sch.uk for further information.

Please do not send a CV, for the purposes of equal opportunities we can only accept Reading Borough Council application forms.

Closing date: Noon, Friday 29 June 2018

Please note that all applications will be considered upon receipt and interviews may take place prior to closing date, therefore an early application is recommended.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An Enhanced DBS check will be sought from the successful candidate.

About E P Collier Primary School

EP Collier Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive community primary school in the heart of Reading, catering for pupils from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds; the number of pupils of minority ethnic origin and those with English as an additional language are much higher than the national average. We are proud of our diverse community and work hard to celebrate our successes.

Our last Ofsted inspection was in November 2017 and we were judged to be remaining "good" in all areas.

We believe in growing and developing the whole child so they are equipped with the social, emotional and educational skills needed to move onto secondary school and beyond. We have a strong PSHE ethos and each child is viewed and treated as an individual. We value our partnerships with parents and recognise the vital role they play in their children's education and well-being.

The curriculum we provide is broad and balanced and enriched with a variety of activities such as trips and visits to the school from different groups ranging from theatre shows and topic theme days to a mobile farm!

We are entering a new phase of the school's history with our roll being expanded to two form entry. We are working in partnership with Reading Borough Council to ensure that we continue to offer the children and parents a welcoming and exciting learning environment now and in the future.

The school is well situated, being a short walk from the station (you can see our Bell Tower from the new concourse) and the town centre. We enjoy being so close to the beautiful River Thames and have the added bonus of being very close to the centre of Caversham too.

Reading is a lively and eclectic town with excellent facilities for shopping, socialising and keeping fit. The Oracle Centre boasts of several large department stores, a range of restaurants and bars and a multi-screen cinema. The school has three gyms within very easy walking distance and Reading Borough Council employees are entitled to discounted membership at selected sporting facilities which includes use of gyms, attendance at classes and use of swimming pools.
