Wellington College International Shanghai opened in August 2014 as Wellington’s second partnership school in China. It currently has 1,140 pupils and continues to grow by over 150 pupils per year. The College is divided into three schools with a Pre-Prep (Nursery to Year 2), Prep School (Year 3 to Year 8) and the Senior School (Years 9 to 13). The College curriculum combines our focus on the Wellington Values with the best of the English and international curricula. The youngest children in the nursery and reception classes follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. From Year 1 the English National Curriculum provides the core of the curriculum in maths and literacy, with other lessons following the International Primary Curriculum. From Year 6 up, all children follow a school-devised curriculum, based on the English National Curriculum and taught by subject specialists to prepare them for the study of a range of IGCSE subjects at Years 10 and 11. Pupils in Year 12 and 13 follow the prestigious IB Diploma Programme.
Wellington College International Shanghai aims to be the best international school in China and to be great place for talented professionals to develop their careers. Our academic results to date have been outstanding, all of 2018 Year 13 students gained their IB Diploma, and the average score was 36.5 points out of a possible 45, which places Wellington comfortably within the top band of international schools in relation to the IB. All of the IGCSE students gained at 7 or more A*-B grades, 47% of the overall grades were A* making it the most common grade, whilst 75% of grades were A*- A and 96% A*- B.
As the group continues to expand we are looking to recruit KS1 Classroom Teacher for Wellington College International Shanghai.
