The opportunity

We are looking for an exceptional  KS1 / Early Years Teacher to teach at our delightful girls' school in Purley (Woodcote Lane). This is a form teacher role and will involve the assessment, planning and delivery of engaging and inspiring lessons. A willingness to become fully involved in  the life of the school and to take on extra-curricular activities is also expected. 

Who are you?

The ideal candidate will be passionate about KS1 / Early Years  education and will understand the importance of planning the correct balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities to ensure children make accelerated progress. The successful candidate will have an enthusiastic and caring attitude with the ability to engage in a warm and supportive way with the children. They will be an effective communicator with excellent verbal and written skills. They successful candidate will always maintain excellent knowledge and understanding of  current pedagogical thinking and will demonstrate an awareness of data protection and confidentiality.

About Cumnor House Girls' School

Cumnor House School for Girls is an independent preparatory school in Purley, near Croydon in Surrey, for girls aged 4-11. The school was originally part of The Lodge, a co-educational school in Purley. The Cognita group took over management of the school in 2010 and it reopened under its present name in 2011.

Since taking over the school, Cognita has completely refurbished the teaching accommodation and provided a new science laboratory and food technology room. Investment has also been made in new ICT equipment.
