KS1 Teacher

A school in the Chaddesden area of Derby are currently seeking a key stage 1 teacher to cover a member of staff who is on a sickness leave until the Christmas holidays. As this is a last-minute vacancy they are currently looking for someone with experience who can continue on with minimal disruption from where the last teacher has left off. The SLT have let me know that they want to both interview and observe a lesson before making a decision on who they want to hire.

As the school are trying to raise their Ofsted results and generally improve the level of education they provide at the school, they need someone with experience and a proven track record of getting results within the classroom. Each class is given access to a TA and one afternoon each week of PPA time is allocated for every teacher. The SLT have said that they will be on hand for the first few weeks to assist with any transitional issues that may arise and also to assist with any pupils who may require additional attention. 

The school want someone who is as enthusiastic and passionate about the role as the member of staff they’re replacing, as this year 1 class has responded well to their last teacher. The school also ask that this new member of staff is willing to take on some extracurricular duties such as lunchtime duty and maybe one day of the after-school club each week.

Please note that all teachers must hold valid QTS. For any Teaching Assistant roles you must hold an NVQ Level 2 or above, a relevant educational degree or a minimum of 3 months relevant experience within a UK school in the last 5 years.
