Newtown Primary School is a school very much at the heart of the local community. It has a long and proud tradition of educating and inspiring the children of west Carlisle. The trustees of our happy and forward-thinking school with superb facilities, located on the outskirts of central Carlisle, seek to employ an enthusiastic KS1 teacher to join our friendly and hard- working team.

Newtown School is a school led with vision, honesty and integrity keeping our children at the heart of all we do. We are part of the Cumbria Education Trust, CET which is a growing multi academy trust based in Cumbria; and is committed to creating outstanding, innovative and inspiring learning environments for our schools and their communities. 

The successful candidates will be joining Newtown as part of CET at an exciting time, as we continue to build on our successes and move forward on our journey.

The successful candidate will:

• Be committed to providing challenging and exciting learning opportunities for all children.

• Have experience of teaching mixed age and ability classes.

• Be committed to ensuring every child achieves their full potential including those children with SEND

• Have excellent behaviour management skills with high expectations of standards to ensure the progress of all pupils.

• Be able to work closely and effectively with parents, carers, other agencies and support staff.
