Job overview

Part-time, 0.4 FTE

Could this be the perfect role for you? Are you hard-working, conscientious and loyal? Do you enjoy making learning fun and do you have what it takes to make an impact on our children’s future?

Outwood Grange Academies Trust is a high performing chain of primary and secondary academies in the North of England. You will be appointed to the central cluster within the family of schools and will be initially deployed to work at Outwood Primary Academy Greystone.

Our core belief is that children come first, and that every child, irrespective of their background has the right to an outstanding education. We are seeking to employ a self-motivated individual who gains pleasure in the achievements of the children in their class – a teacher who have the passion and drive to do whatever it takes for the children they teach to make consistently good progress.

The working pattern for this position is two days per week (0.4 FTE) working in Key Stage 1. Please note this position requires driving.

For those new to the profession, each and every NQT who joins us will receive the support, collaborative opportunities and the best start to a career in teaching that you should need. What we offer:

• Weekly coaching sessions

• Co-planning with colleagues

• Bespoke weekly training sessions

• A supportive and caring SLT team

• Trust wide professional development days

• A well-resourced school, with specialist teachers and staff

• A commitment to providing you with high-quality professional development

• Future leadership opportunities

• Opportunities to work across the Trust

• A supportive professional community

• An invitation to join our NQT Events throughout the year bringing all fellow NQTs together across the Trust to develop a strong support network with colleagues

• Continuing training and mentoring from a subject specialist throughout your NQT year so you feel fully supported in all aspects of teaching

• The opportunity to progress within our Trust at your own pace with the full support of our academies – we successfully identify talent and will work with you to achieve your goals

In line with the Government’s announcement, our academies are closed until further notice. However, we are still busily planning ahead for the forthcoming academic year and are excited about welcoming new recruits to come and join us. In place of academy-based interviews, we have set up systems to ensure that alternative options are still available via skype/video conferencing wherever possible. Every effort will be made to try and accommodate any specific requirements so that no-one is at a disadvantage.

Understandably, visits to the school are not possible at present, however we are really keen to ensure that you have as much information to proceed with your application as possible, so if you would like a conversation about either the academy or the position please contact Rachael Dyson at r.dyson@outwood.com and state which academy/academies you are interested in and we will be happy to assist.

For more information and to apply online, please go to: www.outwood.com > Careers.

Closing date: Midday on 5 June 2020.

We reserve the right to close advertisements early. Advertisements will therefore close at 12 noon, either on the advertised closing date, or the day the decision has been taken to close the advertisement early.

Please note that the interview date may change depending on the changing demands of COVID-19. All applicants will be updated accordingly should this date change.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students. All offers of employment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

About Outwood Primary Academy Greystone

Chief Executive Officer: Lee Wilson

Lead Principal: Mrs Emma Abbott

We are a primary academy, based in the beautiful cathedral city of Ripon, near the UNESCO World Heritage Site encompassing the magnificent Studley Royal Park, including the well-preserved Cistercian Fountains Abbey.

We are passionate about being inclusive and delivering exciting, challenging learning opportunities to the children of the local community. As a result, we use our Pupil Premium allocation to support our more vulnerable students ensuring all children, regardless of ability or need, are fully supported to help them reach and fulfil their potential.

At the centre of everything we do is innovation.

This is why we have introduced the transformational, whole-school primary maths programme, Inspire Maths which is based on the leading Singapore Maths series My Pals Are Here. This initiative aids our pupils development of critical thinking skills, helping them make mathematical connections and become highly numerate.

Similarly, children in years 2 to 6 participate in Accelerated Reader: a computer program that helps teachers manage and monitor pupils’ independent reading practice. Whenever children finish a book, they will answer a series of multiple-choice questions tailored to their level of ability, giving them the impetus to become better and more passionate readers.

We want you to help to take us to the next level.

To help you do that, we work hard to ensure we reduce workload on our colleagues, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of children first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.

We will also actively invest in your future through working closely with the Outwood Institute of Education to offer access to a wide range of CPD opportunities, with all staff receiving a minimum of two hours’ CPD each week.

We also offer a generous employment package with a whole host of staff benefits, including a health cash plan, a cycle to work scheme, plus a partnership with car leasing company, Synergy, with offers exclusively for Outwood colleagues.

Please note that you are wholly responsible for fact checking in respect of the information provided by schools. Please also check for the latest visa and work permit requirements that may apply. Tes is not responsible for the content of advertisements or the policies adopted by advertising schools. Tes asks that all schools follow Tes' Fair Recruitment Policy.
