Job overview

Millbank Academy  is an 'Outstanding' two form entry primary school situated in the heart of =Westminster.  As part of the Future Academies Trust, an ambitious family of schools, Curriculum Centre and a teacher training centre (SCITT), Pimlico Primary benefits from the Trust’s innovative subject specific curriculum and commitment to excellence in all areas of school life.  Future Academies believes that a knowledge-led curriculum is the best means to transform pupil outcomes and seeks a dynamic maths teacher to join the team.

We are looking to appoint a passionate and committed individual with intellect, drive and a passion for maths to join us, as we aim to develop both excellence in our pupils and forge new directions in education.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking bright, passionate and socially-minded individuals. Successful candidates will demonstrate:

• A strong academic record with a 2:1 degree or above from Oxford or Cambridge or another leading university.

• Great passion for their subject.

• The enthusiasm and energy required to work with the children and young people in our schools.

• An unwavering belief in the power of education to change lives. Our Trust’s motto is libertas per cultum (freedom through education). We expect all teachers to share in, and feel empowered by, this concept.

• We welcome applications from secondary teachers and from unqualified applicants.

Why choose us?

• The opportunity to teach your subject and only your subject. Unlike other state primary schools, we expect our teachers to be experts in their subject and only in their subject, and we offer teachers the opportunity to further explore their love for their subject and to deepen their subject knowledge.

• Fast career progression. Because knowledge and intelligence, rather than length of service, are lauded and rewarded at Millbank Academy, teachers can quickly take up great responsibility, leading a department, joining the SLT or writing for the Trust’s Curriculum Centre, where our in-house textbooks are produced.

• The chance to make a difference to children’s lives. Pimlico Primary serves children from the most socially deprived communities: our teachers can therefore make a dramatic impact on the lives of these children.

WE CAN OFFER YOU

• Excellent career advancement continuing professional development opportunities.

• A warm, welcoming environment, with an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and committed team.

• Excellent transport links and the opportunity to work in the heart of London.

• Happy, polite and engaged children with great enthusiasm for learning.

To apply:  Please download the information below.

More information: Please visit our school website.

We normally welcome tours, but regrettably that is not possible at present. In lieu of this, please email: office@millbankacademy.org.uk and we will, instead, happily arrange a call with our headteacher, Catherine Jefferson, to discuss the school.

Future Academies is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all members of staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for this post

We reserve the right to recruit prior to the closing date.
