Values and vision

Maundene School aims to give all children the opportunity to achieve to the best of their ability in a safe, happy and stimulating environment. The primary school wants pupils to have access to an exciting and challenging learning programme and leave the school respectful and aware of diversity, values, cultures, beliefs, abilities and additional needs. A supportive partnership with both parents and governors is important to the school, to ensure that those responsible for the children’s learning are working together in a positive way.

Maundene School has the motto "excellence for all". It gives all children an equal chance of reaching their potential throughout their primary years. The Chatham-based school has a selection of school clubs to encourage children’s interests in a range of activities and pastimes, along with a school council to instil leadership abilities and citizenship awareness in its pupils.

Ofsted report

“Pupils’ behaviour is typically good as they are polite, courteous and kind. Pupils’ positive attitudes towards each other and their teachers help them to learn effectively. They follow instructions conscientiously, but some can be reluctant to suggest alternative ways of shaping their learning. Pupils and parents arrive promptly and pupils move happily to their classrooms. Attendance is above average with clear procedures for monitoring the attendance of different groups.”
