KS2 Teacher

KS2 Teacher (Maternity Cover contract ending April 2022).

Tes is currently supporting a friendly and supportive primary school, based in Pontefract, Wakefield. The school is looking to add a Key Stage 2 Teacher to its progressive and supportive primary school ideally starting in April 2021.

The role will include teaching and coordinating the delivery of KS2 including class teaching and intervention. You will support the Head of Primary to enhance provision and will get the chance to get involved with exciting project work throughout the year. Project work will include revising schemes of work and ensuring the curriculum is engaging to all learners alongside projects that support student attainment, well-being and engagement within the wider school. You’ll also lead by example, supporting learners to achieve to the best of their ability and you’ll enjoy that great feeling when your learners achieve grades beyond their dreams.

“Pontefract Academies Trust is a cross-phase Multi Academy Trust comprising of eight schools, six primaries and two 11 – 16 secondary schools. The Trust is a medium-sized family of schools all located within a tight geographic hub within Pontefract. Pupils are drawn from the local community that includes a mix of different catchment areas.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking and committed Key Stage 2 Teacher at one of our fantastic primary schools. The candidate will be responsible for securing outstanding outcomes for pupils through outstanding provision. The successful candidate will demonstrate high-quality teaching to ensure pupils can make accelerated progress, and upholding the highest standards of learning and achievement for all pupils.

This is a fixed-term maternity cover contract with a provisional end date of April 2022. Please note, this contract has the potential to be extended beyond this date.”

The school expects:

• A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• a relevant Education Degree or a related subject

• experience of delivering KS2, successfully engaging learners to progress

• a love and passion for education.
