Thomas Hinderwell Primary Academy is situated in Scarborough. Our dedicated staff work hard to ensure all children reach their full academic and social potential. Through support and encouragement we aim to develop lively enquiring minds: broadening horizons and embracing excellence.

Thomas Hinderwell Primary Academy provides a continuous learning journey for children from three to eleven years old and responds to developing and changing needs as pupils move through the school. As a result of our high expectations, our children make good progress from their starting points and achieve well.

Full time, term time only.  Permanent contract.

Who we are looking for

  • Qualified teacher status
  • Evidence of sustained participation in INSET/CPD
  • Ability to teach across the primary age range
  • Demonstrable evidence of high standards of class teaching
  • Practical understanding of effective teaching and evaluation strategies
  • OFSTED awareness
  • Awareness of current developments in Education and the implications of these
  • Understanding of effective assessment and target setting procedures
  • Understanding of inclusion and personalised learning
  • Competent in the use of ICT
  • Ability to promote and develop a vision for high quality education, promoting inclusion, spiritual, moral and cultural development
  • A desire to allow each child the opportunity to fulfil their potential, both academically and on a personal level
  • A willingness to provide extra-curricular activities in line with the school’s commitment to an extended and enriched curriculum
