Job overview

KS 2 Teacher – Full time time Sept or Oct 17 start

Our school is currently in need of a KS 2 teacher for two terms (or a year, depending on the successful candidates availability). This post is to commence 4/9/17 or 30/10/17. There maybe scope for this position to be made permanent after the year.

Hayes School is a happy, thriving primary school in the seaside town of Paignton. There are approximately 455 children on roll. There is a large playing field, several playgrounds, a sensory garden and a happy school community!

The school has a stable, loyal staff including Pastoral Support, Library and Resource Management, English, Maths, Speech and Language, Music, Drama and PE specialists.

We are looking for a strong KS 2 practitioner to join our team with a September or October start. Our children are looking for a committed individual who is highly organised and can inspire learning. We can offer you a lively & friendly mix of staff and an ethos based on support and sharing of ideas. The successful candidate will be supported by a co-teacher in a parallel class and will also work closely as part of the team (four teachers) in the planning and delivery of a child-tailored curriculum. We are a school who always look at the ‘person’ first and also for an individual who will grow with us.  Visits are highly recommended.

If you decide to apply, please refer to the person specification when writing your letter of application. However, we are looking for the ‘right person’ within to fulfil the role. Because of this, we believe that recruitment is not a science based entirely on tick boxes and therefore, would encourage you to apply if you feel you are the right person for our school.

I am sure you will agree that it is really important that you visit the school, in order to meet the children and us.

Please e-mail (shindle@hayes.torbay.sch.uk) or phone the office (01803 557336) if you would like to visit.

The closing date for applications is Monday 26th June at 12 noon.

I hope that this information, alongside our website and the person specification has provided you with the information you require and has tempted you to find out more. I look forward to hearing from you.

Mark Hanbury
