Job overview

The successful applicant will be part of a team, providing high quality administration support, meeting the needs of students, staff and parents on Rock Road campus. The applicant will be required to work 30 hours per week (Monday to Friday) term-time only plus inset days.  You will be remunerated on a salary based on £18889 - £19207 per annum pro rata (actual salary £13253 - £13476).


Steyning Grammar School is a unique Church of England comprehensive school, with 2250+ students on roll (425+ are in the Sixth Form College), set in the beautiful South Downs countryside. The campus currently spreads across three sites: Shooting Field, Steyning (KS4-5), The Towers, Upper Beeding (KS3) and Rock Road, Storrington (KS3).  We are a day and residential school, with a boarding provision based in Steyning and a thriving Sixth Form College based at the Shooting Field campus.


SGS is part of Bohunt Education Trust (BET) which comprises of seven other secondary schools across the South East. The Trust has evolved from Bohunt School in Liphook which has an outstanding Ofsted judgment and was previously the TES school of the year.  BET's educational philosophy is encapsulated by three short verbs: Enjoy, Respect and Achieve.


Our staff are impressive and inspirational practitioners and leaders, with a strong team ethic. Our students are fantastic – polite, confident and eager to learn, preparing for their exciting futures. Ofsted (March 2017) rated our school ‘Good with Outstanding features’; quoting us as having “an aspirational culture” where “teachers have high expectations and design stimulating lessons”.


Ofsted (2018) rated our Boarding provision ‘Outstanding’ stating, “Student welfare is the beating heart of the school” where “students make exceptional progress. They develop social and independent skills as well as academic success”.
