New school - unique opportunity
Grove Academy is an exciting new free school that opened in September 2017 and is the first all-through school to open in Slough. We now have pupils in Reception, Years 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 and 8.
We are looking for a teaching assistant to support to work with us in Years 7 and 8. The successful candidate will be a happy, caring and enthusiastic person who will work closely with the class teachers to provide a supportive and exciting learning environment. You will need to demonstrate the ability to build effective relationships with pupils to support them not only in their learning but also in developing their social skills. You should have effective communication skills and a willingness to contribute to the overall ethos and aims of our school. The post is term time only, plus 5 INSET days and 32.5 hours per week including a lunch duty.

We are looking for someone who:
- Has recent relevant experience of working in secondary school
- Is a proactive and flexible team player
- Is able to use their own initiative to support children’s learning.
Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience. Details of the three grades are shown in the job descriptions.

About Grove Academy
Grove Academy is the first all-through school to open in Slough and provides opportunity and education for 4 to 16 year olds, underpinned by high-quality teaching and learning and a common assessment framework. This continuity ensures that we can avoid the dips in performance associated with transition from one phase or school to another.
As one school we are able to teach subjects to our younger children via specialist subject teachers, such as modern foreign languages and PE. We can provide pastoral care for children in challenging circumstances by offering a ‘joined-up’ strategy and support families more consistently over a longer time.
