Purpose of the post:

To lead the team of Year 10 and 11 Year Leaders and Year Managers in delivering a programme of academic and pastoral support that secures high quality outcomes for all Key Stage 4 students.

In addition to the responsibilities of class teacher, as set out in the Teachers’ Standards, the post holder will also undertake the following duties and responsibilities to support Senior Leadership Team in implementing whole school practice:

  • Model high quality Teaching and Learning
  • Promote a stimulating learning environment which encourages high expectations from both staff and students
  • Review Key Stage 4 curriculum model annually, in consultation with Deputy Headteacher, and adapt, as appropriate, to reflect student needs
  • Lead a Continued Professional Development programme within Key Stage 4 Year Leaders and Year Managers, encouraging staff to share good practice as part of this process
  • Lead Key Stage 4 self-evaluation and improvement planning
  • Work closely with Key Stage 3 and 5 Leaders to ensure smooth transition for students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 4 to Key Stage 5
  • Chair regular meetings of Key Stage 4 Year Leaders and Year Managers, as identified in the school calendar
  • Coordinate Key Stage 4 Residential Programme
  • Lead Key Stage 4 Rewards Assemblies and Presentation Evenings
  • Oversee the successful implementation of the school’s Rewards Programme across Key Stage 4

Co-op Academy Priesthorpe is a 'Good' school in Leeds (Ofsted, 2024) with Outstanding features. It is an 11-18 Academy with a Sixth Form and an intake of over 1000 students and around 135 staff. Originally a co-operative foundation school and part of the Leeds Co-operative School’s Network, they joined the Co-operative Academies Trust in July 2017.
