Full-time Science Laboratory Technician From January 2017
DLD College is looking for an enthusiastic full-time Lab Technician to join our dynamic team from January 2017. DLD College is an independent boarding college situated in the heart of London overlooking Westminster and the river Thames. There are around 500 students from 40 different countries. About the Alpha Plus Group DLD was founded in 1931 and is part of the Alpha Plus Group of schools and colleges.

Your duties and responsibilities will include the following: The role of Lab Technician is a busy role. You will need to be a knowledgeable, organised individual, able to coordinate all the appropriate resources for the smooth running of the Science department whilst adhering to all legislative requirements in relation to Health and Safety. You will provide technical support to the science teachers, contributing to the students' learning experience by assisting with the preparation of materials and apparatus for practical work. Furthermore you will assist with running practicals – a background in chemistry and biology is essential; physics desirable. A formal science qualification, plus a good understanding of laboratory safety are essential. Applicants would benefit from relevant previous experience and familiarity with the preparation and handling of chemicals and scientific equipment. Knowledge of recent curriculum developments at GCSE and A Level is highly desirable as is the ability to relate well to teenagers.
