9.00-1.00 pm three days and 9.00 - 4.00pm two days per week

Drama lessons are popular and an extremely important part of curricular and extra-curricular life at St Hilary’s School. LAMDA is used to develop confidence and other skills, with classes currently offered from Year 3 to Year 6 pupils, but which will be opened up to Year 2 in the near future

We are now looking for a well-qualified, energetic, enthusiastic and inspiring teacher, to work independently and collaboratively, as part of the team.

In addition to Speech and Drama classes, you would be expected to produce and direct a Year 3/4 production, in Spring term and a Year 5/6 production, in Summer term, plus prepare pupils for participation in the Godalming Festival. That’s why you will also need experience of directing full scale productions and managing budgets.

As pupils are able to participate in the LAMDA examination programme in ‘The Speaking of Verse and Prose’ from Introductory Level to Grade 3, a thorough understanding of the requirements for LAMDA exams is important.

Degree qualified or equivalent in Drama, together with the LAMDA or alternative relevant professional qualification is essential, as is attendance at a Drama School. Proven experience of LAMDA teaching and being in a teaching environment are crucial, as is a commitment to high standards and the ability work confidently and effectively with a busy workload.
