The Landbased team at South Staffordshire College is looking for an energetic and experienced technician to join our forward thinking, supportive and diverse department.  The successful applicant will join a highly professional team working across the Rodbaston campus.

The landbased technician will support teaching and learning within the landbased curriculum.  The role has a largely science based focus and  involves preparing resources, constructing and modifying apparatus and carrying out appropriate safety checks.  Duties also involve the preparation of demonstrations and helping with learner experiments, the maintenance of equipment both within the science labs and other specialist learning areas, cleaning and stock control including stock taking and and re-ordering of equipment and resources.

Good initiative, communication and organisational skills are essential, along with a willing and flexible attitude to work.  The successful applicant will require a Grade C or above in GCSE English and Maths and have good science knowledge.

The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion in and an ability to help develop the landbased resource and to help establish effective  learning opportunities for our college community.
