Latin Teacher

Required for April or September 2022

A part-time Latin teacher is required to teach Latin and Classics to Years 6 to 8 with an ability to prepare children for both Common Entrance and Scholarship examinations.

Teaching 

• Deliver Latin/Classics lessons to Years 6 - 8.

• Prepare children for both Common Entrance and Scholarship Latin.

• Foster a stimulating and motivating learning environment.

• Plan, resource and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of all pupils enabling rapid progress.

• Adopt a ‘blended learning’ approach when required, ensuring that digital resources are used to enhance learning creatively and lessons can be delivered remotely if required.

• Plan for differentiation taking into account all abilities and vulnerabilities, adapting planning and teaching to meet the needs of pupils 

• Maintain excellent pupil behaviour to ensure effective teaching and learning. 

• Provide regular and timely feedback which provides pupils with the information they require to move forward in accordance with the school’s Feedback Policy.

• Ensure effective record keeping, pupil monitoring, assessment and reporting in line with school policy. 

• Prepare and update schemes of work and medium-term plans as required.
