Brighton College Abu Dhabi is currently seeking to appoint an experienced, well-qualified, and inspirational Lead Counsellor to join us in September 2020. This is a unique opportunity to join an exceptional and hardworking team with the united goal of ensuring that every child reaches their potential both academically and socially, by pushing boundaries and broadening horizons. The Lead Counsellor is aided by a fully qualified part-time Counsellor, with whom the successful candidate will work closely.
The Lead Counsellor, who is also the Safeguarding Lead, is central to supporting pupils and equipping staff and coaching parents to nurture and encourage an environment in which our pupils can express themselves, care for each other, build resilience and thrive. The Lead Counsellor will promote student success, provide preventative services and respond to pupils’ needs across the three schools within Brighton College Abu Dhabi. This is a demanding and varied role in which the Lead Counsellor will need to have a genuine love of working with children, to share in their wonder and to inspire them to learn. They will need to have a genuine passion for Counselling and understand the social and emotional needs of pupils from 3 to 18 years of age.

Mixed state school Brighton College Abu Dhabi educates around 1,650 pupils aged between three and 18 across its Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior schools. A Sixth Form (Year 12) opened in September 2014. Based on Abu Dhabi Island in a purpose-built campus next to Khalifa Park the has 144 academic staff and more than 100 support staff. It was the first of Brighton College UK’s sister schools in the United Arab Emirates, joined in September 2013 by Brighton College Al Ain.
