Grade 9 (£33,275 to £36,592 per annum) – 39 weeks per academic year OR

Teacher Pay Scale plus TLR1c payment (£11,473 per annum)


The Role

We are seeking to recruit an experienced and ambitious individual to lead the Academy’s Inclusion/SEN Strategy, advising the Academy on current and future developments in SEND.  The post holder will work closely with the Assistant Principal responsible for student welfare and support to ensure learning programmes are meeting individual needs. You will also lead and manage the Student Support team and will work closely with the Attitude to Learning Leader and a wide range of multi-disciplinary partners to deliver positive outcomes for all our students. 


The School

Manchester Health Academy opened in September 2009 and is sponsored by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. In September 2010 the Academy moved into a £20 million state-of-the-art building and to accommodate a growing student population we have recently completed a further £10 million expansion project. Rated by Ofsted in April 2015 as a good school, with many outstanding features, we are now embarking on the next stage of our journey to outstanding and are looking for exceptional and inspiring individuals to help us achieve this ambition.

What we’re looking for

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and exceptional professional, who is highly organised, results orientated and a strong team player who relishes a challenge.  You will have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to work effectively with parents and carers.  It is essential that you are passionate about working with students with additional learning needs and disabilities in order to drive improvements in developing differentiated learning programmes and SEND provision for all curriculum areas to encourage innovation and inspire and enthuse learners.  

We will welcome applications from both qualified teachers and those who are not qualified to teach but who are experienced SEND specialists.  Applicants who are qualified to teach, must have the ability to teach English and/or Literacy.
