You will work directly with the Deputy Headteacher in charge of Teaching and Learning and help them to develop the classroom practice of teachers in all departments across the school with a particular focus upon English.

You will be heavily involved in the development of a high quality CPD programme that will transform learning at our school.  Over the coming months, St John Fisher will be a breeding ground of innovation, and we will create numerous opportunities for self and career development for our teachers.  You will be at the forefront of this development.

This post therefore presents a wonderful opportunity for the successful candidate to help us to shape and drive our vision from its early stages.

We are an over-subscribed Catholic 11-19 mixed school with nearly 1200 students on roll (approximately 200 in the Sixth Form).  The school was founded to help parents to provide a Catholic education for their children, and this remains our founding principle.  We are committed to showing Christian care and concern for all staff, students and parents.

St John Fisher is going through an exciting period of transition and change under the guidance of a new Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team.  We are creating opportunities for staff to be involved in a range of national teaching projects that will have a clear impact on teaching and learning and student progress in school.

You are warmly invited and encouraged to visit our school to meet other members of the department and see for yourself what a great place St John Fisher is to work.

St John Fisher is a nurturing and caring Christian community that provides fantastic career development opportunities.  We look forward to hearing from candidates that are motivated by this vision and want to join a school that encourages students at every turn to exceed their potential.  A
