Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, motivational and ambitious lead practitioner in English. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational and creative leader to play a crucial role in the Academy, which is the city’s most improved school and also boasts state of the art buildings and facilities.

You will have excellent inter-personal skills and be highly effective in promoting and securing the best for all. You will have the drive and ambition to drive forward excellence in teaching and learning within the English department. You will be outward facing to continue to develop the excellent links that are already in place with a range of external organisations and build on these for the benefit of the department.

We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates unconditional positive regard for young people and who has the highest expectations of themselves and others and with an ambition to make a difference. You will have the opportunity to shape the way the department moves forward. You will be joining a team of highly skilled and committed professionals who are relentless in the pursuit of excellence to improve the life chances of our students.

Our core values of Respect, Commitment and Trust are at the heart of all we do and our vision of excellence permeates our drive to ensure the highest outcomes for every student. This is a key post in ensuring that the Academy continues to move from strength to strength. You will be working in an environment that is serious about learning and serious about providing career development opportunities. The ‘outward facing’ nature of the Academy and its CPD are major strengths and in addition to this, being part of The Co-operative Academies Trust affords unique CPD opportunities for the successful candidate.

If you feel you have the passion and drive and are committed to our vision of excellence, then we look forward to receiving your application.

Application form, job description and person specification are available from our academy website: http://www.mcmacademy.coop/vacancies and from The Co-operative Academies Trust website at http://www.coopacademies.co.uk/work-with-us/vacancies.
