Job overview

The Governors wish to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated teacher to join the Science Department from September 2019.  The successful candidate will join a supportive, forward-looking department.  

The main role of the Lead Practitioner in Science is to provide pedagogic leadership within Hurstmere’s Science department, driving forward improvements and raising standards in teaching and learning.  They will be an excellent classroom teacher and their skill within the classroom will enable them to be very effective in supporting school priorities. 

The Lead Practitioner will work with the Director of Science and the Head of the Department to drive up standards of learning and teaching.
